Ovulation Tests

Ovulation Tests

Ovulation is when a mature egg is released from the ovary, pushed down the fallopian tube, and is available to be fertilized. Approximately every month an egg will mature within one of your ovaries. As it reaches maturity, the egg is released by the ovary where it enters the fallopian tube to make its way towards waiting sperm and the uterus. The lining of the uterus has thickened to prepare for the fertilized egg. If no conception occurs, the uterine lining, as well as blood, will be shed.

Ovulation tests are used to determine your fertile days so you can maximize your efforts in trying to conceive. These tests detect a surge in the luteinizing hormone (LH), which occurs a day or two before ovulation. This can be helpful to know when determining the best time to have intercourse. There are two types of ovulation tests available in our store ie Midstream Ovulation Tests & Clearblue Ovulation tests.

Midstream Ovulation Tests - 20mIU - 10 Tests : When a woman is about to ovulate, her body releases a large amount of a hormone called L.H. (Luteinising Hormone). L.H. is always present in your urine but the levels increase (surge) in the middle of your cycle, causing you to release an egg from the ovary, this process is called ovulation. If the L.H. surge is present, ovulation is likely to occur in the next 24 to 48 hours. These ovulation tests detect the L.H. surge by measuring the amount of L.H. in urine.

Clearblue Digital Ovulation Tests: The Clearblue Digital Ovulation Test range is over 99% accurate in detecting the urinary luteinizing hormone (LH) surge that occurs 24-36 hours prior to ovulation.
